Hi, I’m Tara!
I’m the owner of Refined & Co. I was born and raised in the south hills of Pittsburgh. I graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 2017 and found my way back to my hometown shortly after where I now reside with my husband and our son, Crew.
My love for refinishing came from learning to update my childhood furniture as I was on the broke college budget right out of school. I found a niche market and continued to expand my talents to refining kitchen cabinets, vanities, fireplaces and basically, anything that can be painted! My hobby quickly grew into a passion, which quickly grew into a business and officially became an LLC in March of 2019.
There is something magical about taking something old and giving it brand new life. My favorite part of every job is revealing the final transformation to my clients and being just as excited as them. From a sentimental piece of furniture finished to match their style or fresh kitchen for their family to make new memories in, every project is so rewarding to me.
Meet Carly
Growing up as sisters in the South Hills, we have always been around our dad’s contracting business where our love of seeing projects from start to finish began. If you’re looking for a “design-eye,” Tara is your girl, but if you’re ready to tackle a project and get shit done, Carly is your go-to.
Carly graduated from Cal PA in 2019 with a degree in Sports Management. She recently bought and renovated her own home in Peters Township. She has been with Refined + Co. since she graduated from college and began as a part time gig, then grew to love the process and creating connections with clients, which led to this being her full-time gig as our Operations Manager.
